Breaking Barriers and Building Futures!

Hello King’s! I’m Samira, a second year student studying International Development. I’m running for Student Trustee and I need your support!

For YOU, I will:

  • help every single King’s student maximises their student experience - university will fly by so we need to make the most of it

  • ensure KCLSU Trustee board considers and takes into account the opinions of the students before decisions are made

  • improve communication between KCLSU, societies, and students

My goals

Financial support initiatives:

My first aim is to provide support to students during the rising cost of living: KCLSU must financially support students and societies by increasing the funding they provide. Societies are the cornerstone of King’s,and I aim to relieve them from any financial burden in order for societies to facilitate greater events. I also aim to make the costs cheaper - since the admin costs of joining a society is so expensive, it may deter people to join.

Well-being:

Initiate more mental health and well-being ideas. For example, making mental health services more accessible and available for students, providing them with a safe space to express their thoughts. I will also advocate for better social study areas - I think everyone can agree that the current ones are too overcrowded!

Environmental sustainability:

Advocate for initiatives within the SU that focus on promoting a greener campus and sustainable practices. For example, exploring renewable energy sources such as solar panels and how we are able to implement them into campus, as well as supporting eco-friendly events.

Vote for me to improve the efficiency and ensure the longevity of KCLSU! Please email me if you have any questions :) [email protected]
