Shaping Future Finance Leaders at King’s.
Manifesto for Head of Corporate Relations – King’s Accounting & Finance Society
Eshita Soni
Success in the financial world is built on strong relationships, strategic networking, and access to the right opportunities. As a dedicated student of Economics and Management at King’s College London, fostering connections between students and industry professionals has always been a priority. The goal as Head of Corporate Relations is to strengthen the society’s ties with leading firms, secure meaningful partnerships, and create valuable opportunities that help members navigate the competitive world of finance.
Why me?
Experience in Corporate Engagement
Having represented King’s at networking events as a Student Ambassador, there has been extensive interaction with alumni and industry professionals. Engaging with recruiters from KPMG, PwC, and Grant Thornton through Young Professionals UK has provided insight into what firms seek in top candidates. Additionally, a shadowing experience at DB Schenker offered a first-hand understanding of investment decisions and corporate strategy perspectives that will be invaluable in shaping the society’s corporate outreach.
Strong Communication & Relationship-Building Skills
Involvement as Treasurer of King’s Consulting Society has included managing finances and liaising with sponsors to support key initiatives. Leading a Young Enterprise team involved pitching to investors, securing funding, and generating a £1,000+ profit, leading to multiple business awards. Successfully negotiating sponsorship deals in the past has reinforced the ability to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with corporate partners.
Expanding Industry Connections for the Society
Strengthening corporate partnerships is essential to providing students with real-world exposure and career opportunities. By increasing sponsorships, organizing insight days and networking sessions, and collaborating with King’s alumni and industry experts, the aim is to connect students directly with professionals in investment banking, consulting, and corporate finance.
Key Goals as Head of Corporate Relations
Stronger Corporate Partnerships- Actively engaging with top firms to bring in high-quality sponsors and recruiters who recognize the value of King’s students.
Exclusive Career Events & Networking Opportunities- Expanding internship pipelines by hosting recruiter-led workshops, employer Q&A panels, and finance networking socials to give members an edge in their career journeys.
Securing Sponsorship & Resources for Society Initiatives- With increased funding, the society can host larger-scale events, provide exclusive career resources, and facilitate hands-on finance simulations that bridge the gap between theory and practice.
A Collective Vision for Growth- The King’s Accounting & Finance Society has immense potential to create impactful industry connections and career-defining experiences. With a deep commitment to corporate engagement and student success, this role will be dedicated to expanding opportunities, fostering meaningful relationships, and ensuring every member benefits from greater access to the financial world.
