Representing the 93%, One Vote at a Time.

About me:

Hi, I'm Reem! I'm proudly state-school educated, and a part of the first generation in my family to attend university. I believe your background should never limit your potential, and this is why I’m running for President of the 93% Club.

I understand what it’s like to navigate higher education without the privilege of extensive networks, and I want to ensure every student feels supported and empowered. I am committed to amplifying our voices and building a strong, supportive community where the 93% feel they belong.

What I Want to Do for the 93% Club:

  • More Socials, Stronger Community - I’ll introduce more social events to bring our community together and strengthen our presence on campus. These will create more opportunities for members to connect, support each other, and make certain that no state-school student at King’s ever feels out of place.
  • Strengthen Inter-Club Connections - I’ll continue building relationships with other 93% clubs at different universities to foster a broader, more united network. By sharing resources, experiences, and opportunities, we can create a more powerful support system for us all.

  • Maximising the 93% Network - I plan to leverage our alumni network and industry connections to organise insightful panels, career workshops, and networking events. These will focus on professional development and help to bridge the gap for state-schoolers seeking career opportunities.

  • Introduce a Buddy Scheme - I want to introduce a system where upper-year students mentor first-years. This scheme will ensure new students at KCL feel welcomed, guided, and confident as they begin their university journey.

Why Me?

I have spent much of my time at King’s working to support and uplift students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Through my role as a Widening Participation Ambassador, I’ve helped state-school students access opportunities and build confidence in higher education. As a Zero Gravity mentor, I’ve guided sixth-formers through university applications, ensuring they feel equipped to succeed. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to advocacy, mentorship, and creating initiatives that make a real impact.

I want to bring this same energy and dedication to the 93% Club. With your vote, I will work tirelessly to build a stronger, more connected community where every state-school student at King’s feels supported and empowered.
