Access. Dignity. Opportunity.

Hi, I’m Adithi, and I’m running to be your next VP Welfare & Community.

Welfare isn’t abstract. It’s everyday barriers.

It’s paying extra to travel to Excel for exams.

It’s walking into a toilet and not knowing if basic hygiene products are available.

It’s lying awake at night as an international student wondering whether you truly belong at King’s or whether complex visa rules will stand in the way of your future.

As an international student passionate about sustainability, gender equity and mental health, I understand how isolating university can feel when systems don’t listen.

As the student lead for Sustainability at King’s, Head of the Fossil Free Careers Campaign, and through my work on the Advisory Council for Student Minds, supporting mental health every day, I know how to translate your concerns into meaningful structural change. I have worked directly with every professional team at King’s to shape policy and student-facing initiatives and I will continue to represent your dreams for change.

If elected, I will advocate for:

  • A travel reimbursement scheme for Excel-based exams and a hardship travel fund for low-income students
  • An international student voice forum feeding directly into King's Careers & Employability, alongside stronger ethical careers policies beyond fossil fuel industries
  • Free, well-stocked period products across all campuses, with anonymous reporting systems and monthly monitoring alongside Estates & Facilities
  • Anti-isolation and intercultural community events that bring together home students, international students, commuters, and online learners
  • Reduced waiting-time for mental health counselling and improved assessment mitigation guidance

I will ensure our welfare and community systems are not just reactive fixes, but long-term solutions that last beyond one year.

Welfare is access.

Welfare is dignity.

Welfare is opportunity.

And I’m ready to fight for all three.
